On My Knees By Meredith Wild

Book: On My Knees
Author: Meredith Wild
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Haunted by the responsibility of caring for her troubled family, Maya Jacobs gave the only answer she could when Cameron asked her to marry him.  Years later, entrenched in a soulless professional routine, she distracts herself from the lingering regret of her decision with a “work hard, play hard” lifestyle that guarantees no man will ever find his way into her heart again.
Cameron Bridge has spent the past five years married to the military, trying to escape the painful memory of losing Maya. After fighting his own war in the desert, he starts a new life in New York City, with his siblings, Olivia and Darren, by his side.
When fate brings Maya back to him in the heart of a city filled with its own hopes and shadows, can Cameron find the girl he once loved in the woman she’s become?

 Review:

A slow emotional well written book that I loved. Maya and Cameron have a history one filled with love and heartbreak, the start to any great love story. Five years have pasted and they haven’t spoken to each other until they run into each other. Cameron wants to move forward but Maya isn’t so sure. This book is beautiful full of every feeling and the chemistry is on point. I love stories of second chance and this one takes the cake as my new favorite. There were times that this book had me breathless, laughing and fanning myself all within a few pages. If you’re looking for something new and love a true love story with ups and downs, you need to read this.

When Ben Harris enters her life as her new personal assistant, she can’t tell if it’s his good looks and charm that are working on her libido, or his kind and helpful nature working on her heart? Whatever it is, neither one of them can resist it. As her vision fades out, a world of love and happiness just might…Fade In. Fade In is a contemporary-romance novel about laughing through your tears and telling life to, quite frankly, “Suck it.” This novel contains sexual situations that the author may or may not have tried at home… for your safety, of course. Research is research.

Review:

I love this book so much that I got past the typos after about 20 pages and fall in love with the story. Tatum is a fun and lovable heroine who knows how to really break-up with a loser boyfriend. Her break up was Epic and had me in tears, it was that funny. Tatum has a lot to deal with in her life, after the break up, she much comes to terms with her condition, but she doesn’t want any help being a very independent women, but she finds herself looking for a personal assistant. In walks Ben and Tatum hired him pretty much on the spot. Ben wants to help her but Tatum fights with him about everything and it get funny. After time they grow to feel for each other but Tatum doesn’t want to hold him back from a life he could have with someone who has her condition, but Ben fights for what he wants and that is her, all of her. I love Ben but he has a secret, one that could leave them both alone and heartbroken. I think that is one of the best cast of characters in a books that I have read this year, I loved each of them, and they all worked well together. Ben will make you fall in love with his sweet and sexy but also that he is patient and caring. I want to find a Ben, but Tatum takes that cake. She is funny and doesn’t let things keep her down too much. The storyline is amazing as well as the overall writing there was some typos but really you’re too busy loving the characters to really care. I want a big brother like Tatum, Coop is amazing to her and if Ben’s not your type Coop will be for sure. I found this book refreshing because the characters don’t fall in love instantly, they grow overtime which I love. If you want something funny but has drama as well check out FADE IN. 5 Super Sweet Stars for being amazing.

 Excerpt:

"I hope you saved the receipt for the breakfast and all that stuff yesterday, too. You don't need to be buying my meals," I say with a mouth that's half full.
He quickly pulls the Jeep into a parking lot and smoothly parks in an available space. He turns the engine off and turns to face me.
"Okay. We need to get a few things straight for today, Tatum." Emerald eyes look at me with utmost determination. "Today, I'm not working. Neither are you. Today we are Ben and Tatum, out and about, having a good time. Think of it like a date."
"A date?" Is this a date? Hold up. When did I agree to a date? Then again, what could it hurt? It’s one day-date.
"A date. I'm paying. I'm driving. I'm in control. Do you agree or disagree to this arrangement?"
"No one has ever asked me to go on a date while I'm already on the date." I can't help but smile and be a little excited that he wants to be on a date with me—and he didn't mind telling me so either.
"Will this date interfere with our working relationship?" That's the responsible question I needed to ask.
He shakes his head no.
"Is this like a friends-buddies kind of date?" My eyebrows rise and I lean forward, trying to gauge where he's at in this whole thing.
"Not for me, but I can't answer that for you. You don't even have to think about that right now. Just relax and let me show you a good time. Deal?"  He says this with such confidence that I'm speechless.

She's a proud member of the Indie Author Romance Author Chicks writing group where she maintains a high standard of professionalism and lady-like maturity- or not. She cares about politics, but won’t discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne’s World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head. M. Mabie has never been accused of being tight lipped or shy. She’s THAT girl. (She doesn't usually speak in third-person, but surprisingly does when weirded-out about writing her bio.)
